Foreign Language School Studio Oskar was established in 1992. Levels of language courses at our school have been in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe (CEFR levels) since 2001.

Teaching methodology, school management, premises and administrative services at Studio Oskar Foreign Language School are in accordance with the EU standards. This is certified regularly through inspection procedures provided and organized by YALS (Association of Language Schools of Serbia).

Foreign Language School Studio Oskar is a founder of YALS (Association of Language Schools of Serbia). YALS is an Associate Member of EAQUALS (European Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality in Language Services).

• Serbian language for foreigners courses:

THE COURSE OBJECTIVE is to maximize the efficient use of Serbian language professionally, thus raising the business proficiency of the candidates and attributing to their professional advancement, which is accomplished through:

  • communicative approach and improvement of the active language use (developing speaking, reading, writing and listening skills)
  • programme development exclusively to suit the needs of the candidates
  • raising a general level of language proficiency
  • professional terminology in accordance with the needs of the candidates (banking and finance, IT, management, administration, projects and other relevant areas established within the programme)
  • course levels in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference, which is essential for further training
  • constant evaluation of the progress of the candidates (through progress tests, questionnaires, evaluation sheets for students and teachers, evaluation by the director of studies, final test consisting of the written part-grammar and vocabulary skills and oral part-test of speaking competences)
  • possibility to use our school library, computer resources, audio and video resources

THE COURSE ORGANIZATION:

  • number of candidates per group: 3–8 (possible organization of one-to-one classes)
  • total number of lessons: 64
  • course intensity: 2×2 lessons per week (2x90min) /possible organization of intensive courses/
  • course duration: 4.5 months (if course intensity is 2×2 lessons per week)

  • Possible organization of one-to-one classes, combined one-to-one and group-based classes and intensive courses as well as courses at the premises of business entities and other organizations
  •  Studio Oskar Foreign Language School is particularly specialized in the area of teaching preschool children thanks to the twenty years of experience achieved through cooperation with kindergartens in Novi Beograd, Savski Venac and Vozdovac due to which Studio Oskar had more than 1,000 students of preschool age who attended various language courses annually.

Certificates:

  • On the completion of a course a candidate is issued a Certificate of Attendance and provided he/she passes the Final Test a Certificate of Achievement is issued.
  • The certificate is issued for the level of a specific language course. Course levels are in line with the levels of the Council of Europe which are recognized abroad and can be used as evidence of a language level when applying for a job or professional training.
  • All certificates have YALS (Association of Language Schools of Serbia), an associate member of EAQUALS (European Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality in Language Services) logo.

On the basis of passing the Final Test intended for a specific level, Studio Oskar can issue a Certificate specifying an individual’s language level, although he/she has not attended a course.

YALS MEMBERSHIP

Foreign Language School STUDIO OSKAR is a founding member of YALS since 1999.YALS is an associate member of EAQUALS (The European Association for Quality Language Services). Foreign Language School STUDIO OSKAR participated in developing and defining English language level descriptors for YALS purposes and their harmonization with the descriptors defined by the Council of Europe.

As a founding memeber of YALS, STUDIO OSKAR has participated in the ORGANIZATION OF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS in which MANY RENOWNED EXPERTS FROM THE FIELD OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING have taken part.

RESULTS OF THE LAST YALS inspection show that management, courses, administration and venues of the Foreign Language School STUDIO OSKAR meet the standards of YALS and highest European standards – 100 %
